Professor Valentina Zharkova of Northumbria University has apparently decoded the beat interference phenomena (two interfering waves with very similar frequency) underlying the 11 year solar cycle of sun spots and other solar activity, and is now predicting a new maunder minimum in the number of sun spots and activity starting in 15 years time. This could be a predictor for a new mini ice age in the northern hemisphere, with severe effect on the livelihoods of northern hemisphere farmers, if the positive effects of CO2 induced warming do not come to our rescue.

If her analysis holds up then the next 25 years could well be an important time for progress in the science of climate change, its multiple causes and competing theories. Now that is what I call science.
